Gatundu South Moses Kuria has poked holes into President Uhuru Kenyatta's health program.
On Sunday, through his official Facebook page, Kuria said the Universal Health Care (UHC) will end benefiting even the rich.
According to Kuria, there is a need to rethink on the program.
"A rich tea farmer in Nyeri, a rich livestock trader in Isiolo, a successful fish trader in Kisumu or a successful sand transporter in Machakos, even if they had all the money in the world and are ready, willing and able to pay for NHIF will today be encouraged not to pay and instead join the free UHC Program," Kuria said.
The controversial MP said that free goodies by government should olny be given to the less fortunate.
"Given we have free primary and secondary education, subsidized fertilizer etc, we ought to put some initiatives in the perspective of a seriously stretched budget and ballooning debt," Kuria added.
The Universal Health Coverage (UHC), currently running in three counties, is expected to transform the country's health sector.
A patient with a UHC card will be getting health services free.
