Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika has voiced her concern over corruption at the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government.
This follows Sh4.8 billion scandal which hit the Prison's department in February this year.
Recently, it also emerged that the Fred Matiang'i led ministry unscrupulously purchased choppers valued at Sh112 million.
Speaking on Wednesday evening during JKLive show on Citizen TV, the Nakuru Senator said she is not surprised at all over the purported misuse of funds in the ministry.
"I am not surprised when Senator Ledama talks of the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government being very corrupt. We saw police choppers are being fueled at a cost of Sh112 million per month," said Kihika.
She further noted that corruption in the ministry is what has cast doubt on the DCI's investigative motives since the accounting officers are the ministry's officials.
She also noted that adding that DCI has been held at ransom to allegedly pull some politicians down when real corruption continues under their watch in the ministry.
The Nakuru Senator reiterated that the DCI is not as independent as the EACC since they do (DCI) report to their superiors who might be clambered by the hooks of corruption.
