Deputy President William Ruto has appealed to all governors to embrace dialogue in the division of revenue Bill stalemate.
Speaking in Tharaka constituency where he commissioned Tharaka Technical Training Institute on Saturday, Ruto said court action will not solve some of the problems residents are facing.
He asked county bosses to discuss with Senators matters of public interest before seeking legal redress.
The remarks come at a time when Senators want counties allocated Sh335 billion while MPs feel Sh310 billion is enough to cater for the needs of the people.
According to Ruto, seeking help from the court is not the best way to address the stalemates at different levels.
He noted that county and national governments must work together to achieve their agenda before President Uhuru Kenyatta completes his second and final term in office.
"Both the national and county governments have waited a long time to resolve the impasse. There is no need to wrangle as a solution was about to be found," he said as quoted by Nation.
"There is no need to take the drastic step of moving to court. I would like to persuade county governments to wait because we have already structured engagements among counties, the national government, the Senate and the National Assembly because that is what the Constitution anticipate," he added.
He also said that the national government is ready to work with counties to ensure the people benefit from the fruits of devolution.
