ODM Director of Communication Phillip Etale has weighed in on Wednesday's faceoff between MPs Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu) and Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri).
In a tweet on Thursday, Etale celebrated Ngunjiri for what he termed as beating Ichungw'a on JKL Show, Wednesday night.
In the faceoff, the two lawmakers disagreed on most issues, most of them political and the fast approaching 2022 general elections.
Etale has since thrown his support behind Ngunjiri, saying that he managed to put Ichungw'a in his place, adding that the debate revealed that the Kikuyu MP is just "overrated".
"Kumbe Hon. Kimani Ichung'wa is just overrated. The chap was deflated by Hon. Ngunjiri Wambugu on JKL on Wednesday. And the way he is fighting to be number two of Kenya," he wrote.
The two MPs are part of two rival factions of the ruling Jubilee Party.
Ichungw'a has been seen associating himself with the 'tanga tanga' team which is supporting Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions.
Ngunjiri has on the other hand been seen walking with the 'Kieleweke' group which has been bashing the DP for allegedly engaging in early politics.
