Parenting is a tough calling. It even becomes a tough task if you are parenting a daughter. This special gift needs special care. It is worse if you are a parent living in Mombasa and its environs. You will have to do a lot more to guard her against the jaws of immorality.
1. Date old tourists
Old men are 'spoiling' young girls at the coast. It is your responsibility as a parent to make sure that your daughter is not part of these unlucky girls. Love does not discriminate based on age but you should have standards. Make her understand the need and pleasure that comes with making her own money. You must make her comprehend her worth as opposed to selling herself to the old tourists.
2. Clubbing
If she is not above 18-years-old, never entertain clubbing. Moreover, even if she is above 18, she should respect your premises and club, if she must, after renting/buying, her own house or while away from home for valid reasons like schooling.
3. Befriending drug addicts
Do not let your daughter’s company be the reason you will regret being a parent. With the scary drug addiction problem at the coast, tame your daughter to prevent its spread. If they are addicted to any drug, advise them but never let them be close associates to your Godly gift.
4. Drop out of school
This one is an obvious responsibility of a parent. You should make sure that your daughter schools to the levels that you can afford to fund her. If you allow her to drop out of school, you will not be able to guide her.
