Football Kenya Federation (FKF) in partnership with online betting firm Betin and Percap Limited have this morning launched the #ShindaNaStarsPromotion at a Nairobi hotel.
The promotion is aimed at giving Harambee Stars fans an opportunity to travel to Egypt and cheer the national team during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) competition.
The promotion will run from 8th April to 10th June, and will see the grand winner walk away with one million shillings, and a free trip with five other winners to Cairo, Egypt.
To participate, you will be required to send a text message with the word "Stars" to 29881 and you will be given instructions on how to play by answering simple questions for a chance to win a trip to Egypt.
At the same time, Splash World Limited was announced as the official FKF traveling agency for the 2019 AFCON.
The agency will provide back travel tickets, accommodation, meals and travel insurance and three match tickets to watch Harambee Stars group matches and travel tour while in Cairo at cost of Sh350,000.
Nick Mwendwa said that the federation was targeting about 10,000 fans to cheer Stars in Egypt.
He added that Harambee Stars will pitch a three week camp in France from 27th May to 16th June, and have lined up a number of friendly matches for depending on the AFCON draw slated for Cairo, Egypt on Friday.
In addition, Mwendwa noted that the federation had received money from the government and will use it to settle its arrears.
"We shall pay players allowances while at camp and at AFCON. Each player that will make it to the AFCON team will receive Sh750,000 upon signing of contract. In addition, each player will get Sh250,000 for a win and the same amount for a draw in the AFCON match.
"The Ministry through CS will pay the outstanding head coach dues," he said.
