Speaking during an interview on KTN News on Tuesday, Kabogo said Jubilee could collapse if the alleged internal rifts are not addressed.

Kabogo said that is clear that the party is divided in regards to the 2022 succession debate. He said that President Kenyatta’s development agenda and legacy depends on the party's unity.

“Jubilee could easily fall apart if the issues being raised by some members in relation to the 2022 succession politics are not addressed,” he said.

The former governor asked President Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto to take charge of the party if they want to leave a good legacy.

Kabogo said that while it is difficult to tame 2022 succession politics, President Uhuru should mobilise the party to support his development agenda.

The vocal politician claimed that the rifts in Jubilee could easily resuscitate the Raila Odinga-led National Super Alliance (NASA) that has been dormant in the recent.

“We are likely to see NASA and other coalitions take advantage of the rifts in Jubilee to mobilise influence if the stalemates in Uhuru’s party is not addressed,” he added.

There are claims of internal rifts in Jubilee that are threatening the party's unity. The alleged rifts are revolving around the 2022 succession debate.

The party’s parliamentary meeting that had been set for today (Tuesday) was cancelled at the last hour on Monday with the party Secretary General Raphael Tuju saying that there was no crisis to warrant the meeting.

Tuju told journalists that the party is planning for a retreat to iron out differences among some party members.
