Under performance, corruption scandals and lack of political clout will cost at least 10 Cabinet Secretaries in the looming reshuffle, the Standard has reported.
For the last ten days, President Uhuru Kenyatta has been at the Coast in his Vipingo Ridge private home where he has been working on the final changes.
At Nairobi on Tuesday ODM leader Raila Odinga, whose relationship with Uhuru since the handshake has blossomed, promised Western Kenya MPs that they will reap from the impending changes.
Last week on Thursday, Raila reportedly held a 4-hour meeting at Vipingo Ridge hotel.
And the looming changes coupled with secret lifestyle audit on senior government officials, has reportedly caused panic within government.
Already, Henry Rotich (Treasury) and Adan Mohammed (EAC) have been indicted by joint parliamentary committee probing illegal sugar importation.
Mr. Rotich is accused of opening window for duty free importation while Mohammed, then as Industrialization and Trade, is accused of laxity.
News that some of the imported sugar contained traces of mercury would even make the two as likely candidates for sacking.
And Interior Minister Fred Matiang'i, a reformist par excellence, is also fighting allegations on fraud in ShSh3.2 billion Ruaraka land saga.
Two ministers, Amina Mohammed (Education) and Farida Karoney (Lands), implicated Matiang'i during Senate probe.
Others facing possible axe include Cecily Kariuki, who was in charge of Youth docket when Sh10 billion NYS money was reportedly stolen and Najib Balala, who is under fire over death of Rhinos.
And Energy Minister Charles Keter may not also be spared given the ongoing probe in various energy parastatals among them KPLC.
Mr. Odinga's allies could be chief beneficiaries as Uhuru also battles to stamp authority in government.
