Burial preparations for the slain Monica Kimani Nyawira are underway at their Kairi farm in Gilgil constituency, Nakuru County.
Yesterday, Monica’s requiem mass was held at MKU Grounds in Thika. Her family stays in Thika but she used to stay in Nairobi. Various dignitaries attended the requiem mass including Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
The 29-year-old businesswoman was found dead and dumped in a bathtub with her throat slit at her apartment in Kilimani, Nairobi.
Investigations on her mysterious death are still underway with one key suspect, Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe’s fiancé Joseph Irungu being held in police custody.
However, one of her neighbors at their rural home in Gilgil, who goes by the name of Jere Manxi on Facebook, shocked many by his post on Facebook attacking Monica for 'avoiding' him for 'being poor'.
The Facebook user was forced to apologize as netizens went hammer and tongs on him. They accused him of being insensitive.
