Instead, the MP says, the DP should form alliances with other regions to bolster his chances or prepare for early exit, reports the Standard.

Speaking at Narok South over the weekend, the MP recalled how the region duped former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of 2013 polls.

"My advice to Deputy President William Ruto is that he should know that Mt. Kenya region has never been reliable.

"After President Mwai Kibaki's tenure, I was in Wiper and we were promised that they will support Kalonzo but what happened?" wondered Kilonzo in reference to 2012 turn around by the leaders from the region.

In 2007, Kalonzo Musyoka backed Kibaki amid election crisis a move that increased the latter's chances to cling to power.

For the last two elections, Ruto has backed President Uhuru Kenyatta but their relationship lately seemed to have deteriorated.
