A 29-year-old man was on Sunday morning found dead at a construction site on the outskirts of Moi University.
The man is believed to have committed suicide after his fourth-year girlfriend broke up with him.
The lady is alleged to have locked the man out of the house when he went to visit her on Sunday before throwing out his belongings through the window. The man seemingly could not take it and proceeded to a construction site opposite the flat in which the lady resides, and committed suicide.
A close source who wanted to remain anonymous on the other hand revealed that the caretaker had left with the man after the argument.
“The caretaker came and talked to the man before taking him away. Then on Sunday, we woke up to the saddening news that the man had committed suicide,” the source revealed.
The alleged caretaker, however, refused to speak about the incident. He went ahead to also deny that he was not the caretaker and instead pretended to be the watchman of the apartment.
Caretaker’s reluctance to share information on what happened coupled up with the extreme secrecy in which the incident was dealt with, raises questions on whether there is something being hidden.
The body of the deceased was taken to the mortuary at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret as police launched investigations into the incident.
