A political analyst says Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka's decision to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta is well calculated.

According to Prof. Herman Manyora, the Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi will equally join the Jubilee's administration soon.

Manyora argues that Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula is not in a position to marshal the Western votes to ensure a candidate becomes president.

He notes that the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga still remains the Western region's political kingpin.

“Do you think Wetangula can marshal Western support for Ruto? He can’t. Raila will still run through Western. Kalonzo has seen the "light" in working with Jubilee, give Mudavadi two weeks to do so,” Manyora said.

Manyora's sentiments come barely a week since Kalonzo assured Kenyatta for his support in the fight to deliver the big four agenda.

The Wiper leader said he equally supports the handshake between the president and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

“As a Party, our priority remains to ensure a united Kenya, particularly after the March 9th handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga which has seen the country move towards a trajectory of recovery,” Kalonzo said.

The move has been seen by some political analysts as tactical as the 2022 presidential succession politics continue taking center stage.
