Former Kilifi deputy governor shot dead

Former Kilifi Deputy Governor Kennedy Kamto has been shot dead.

According to Mombasa County Commissioner Evans Achoki, the latter met his death at his home in Nyali, Mombasa County on Tuesday night.

He was reportedly killed by unknown gunmen whose identities are yet to be established.

Achoki said that investigations have been launched to ascertain persons and reasons behind the murder.

The officer added that the deceased was ambushed by three people while entering his home, before killing him.

The gunmen reportedly demanded for money, and had their faces masked to conceal their identity.

No arrest has since been made.

His body has since been moved to the Pandya Memorial Hospital mortuary as reported by Standard.
