The oldest serving Member of Parliament from Gusii region has insisted that MPs should push for salary hike.
Kitutu Chache North MP Jimmy Angwenyi said no one is going to stop legislators from pushing for higher perks.
"We deserve good pay and allowances because we are working hard to serve the electorates. We can't be subjected to poor working environment," he noted.
Angwenyi, who is in his 70s, warned members of the press against reporting propaganda saying the truth must reign.
He assured that MPs won't succumb to cheap threats and propaganda from rivals traversing the country to oppose the lawmakers' decision to push for salary hike.
"Not even President Uhuru Kenyatta or NASA leader Raila Odinga is going to succeed in stopping legislators from pushing for pay rise and good allowances such as house allowances," he maintained.
Angwenyi who is serving his 5th term in Parliament urged Kenyans to ignore political losers who are in the political cold desperately seeking relevance in politics. .
