A 30-year-old man died on the spot after he was allegedly pushed from a moving vehicle in Mlolongo, Machakos County.
The incident occurred along the busy Nairobi-Mombasa highway few meters from Mulleys Supermarket stage in Mlolongo town on Wednesday.
Confirming the incident, Mlolongo chief Peter Ndunda said the deceased was pushed from a bus belonging to Rembo Shuttle which he had just boarded headed to Kitengela from Nairobi town.
"The bus was heading to Kitengela from Nairobi and on reaching Mlolongo, a quarrel ensued between the victim and the conductor where he was pushed off the vehicle and fell on the road and lost his life on the spot," Said Ndunda.
Ndunda spoke to this writer on the phone.
Irate members of the public protested against the incident.
They attempted to barricade the highway before they were dispersed by the police who used teargas canisters before clearing the road.
Police removed the body to Shalom Community Hospital's Mortuary in Athi River.
The vehicle was impounded by the police.
