Most politicians survive on lies and manipulation. Whenever they have an opportunity to speak to you, there are common phrases that they use. Their radio interviews, television conversations as well as public speeches are calculated to suit personal needs as opposed to public interest. These are some of the three common phrases used by politicians.
1. I can’t confirm nor deny
Leaders who fear to declare publicly their stand on sensitive issues apply this phrase. They know the truth but are afraid to let people know their opinions on the issue at hand. When pressed they will simply reply, I cannot confirm nor deny.
2. It is in the takeoff stage
Development is one of the things that every politician will promise you as he or she campaigns. However, time will fly and nothing tangible will be forthcoming. If asked why there is no development, they will say that the promised projects are in the takeoff stage. When does take off the start and end?
3. We are looking into it
Once one says ‘we’ it means he is distancing himself from personal responsibility. You will never pin him down because reaching a common ground with ‘we’ is a tough task. He will continue giving you the same excuse.
