Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in office, urged Macron, who landed into the country on Tuesday, to direct the French firm to swing into action as he seeks to leave behind a legacy.

Once complete, the rail will connect Nairobi Central Station to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

The project is currently under the feasibility test before implementation.

The commander in chief of the armed noted that the project is taking too long, which is not good news for the people of this nation.

“Lecture them to finish the project in two years and not ten,” Uhuru told Macron, as Standard quoted.

Uhuru also revealed that he entered into a deal that will see the initiation of projects worth 3 billion Euros with the French President.

Upon completion, the railway project is expected to serve 500000 commuters on a daily basis.

Uhuru said that the project is meant to ease traffic congestion as well as promote economic growth in different parts of Nairobi.

In response, Macron agreed to direct the firm to complete the project as requested by Uhuru.
