Kenya has different communities with diverse cultures.

Some community cultures have been identified based on the kind of food they consume.

The following are some of the foods that are associated with a certain community:

1.Ugali

Maize is a staple food in Kenya.  It is a common delicacy in many Kenyan homes but it is much more common in Western Kenya.

2.Mukimo

This delicacy has its origin in Central Kenya.

It is a traditional food that was served during special ceremonies among the Kikuyu community.

Mukimo is a combination of maize, beans, potatoes and vegetables mashed all together.

3.Fish

With fishing as their main economic activity coupled with their proximity to Lake Victoria, Luos have long been associated with fish in Kenya.

Your visit to the lakeside city will be termed incomplete if you won't feast on well-cooked tilapia.

4.Mursik

Mursik is traditional milk either of a cow or a goat that has been fermented and preserved in a special gourd.

It's one of the most cherished drinks among the Kalenjins.

Mursik is served during special occasions in the community.
