Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei and Soy constituency MP Caleb Kositany have come out to warn William Ruto’s critics from the Rift Valley against losing their seats in 2022.
The two legislators have maintained that Ruto's 2022 presidential bid is unshakable and any politician opposing his rise should forget about his or her seat.
Kositany said that Ruto remains Rift Valley’s kingpin and any party opposing him will unsuccessful.
“Rift Valley’s way forward is Ruto. Where the DP will be, we will be there. We will crush any other political party,” he said as quoted by the standard.
Cherargei said that those opposing Ruto’s presidential bid are digging their own graves and will therefore not retain their seats in the coming general elections.
“Perceptions created by a few elements will not derail Ruto’s presidential aspirations. We are solidly behind the DP and will ensure he is respected. Those working against him are digging their own political graves and writing obituaries.” Cherargei said.
These sentiments come at the time when Ruto’s presidential bid seems to be on a steep road as influential politicians from the Rift Valley region are leaving his political camp.
Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos and former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Kiprop Bundotich alias Buzeki recently distanced themselves from the ‘Tanga Tanga ‘ group.
