The businessman claims that goons gained entry into his Rams supermarket and stole goods worth Sh 3 Million on Saturday and Sunday night.

Gorasia alleges that the incident happened in the presence of the police.

In a complaint filed at Embakasi police station on Monday, Gorasia further claimed that police refused to allow him time to remove valuables from his supermarket that was housed in the mall.

Gorasia now wants the government to hunt down the goons who allegedly stole his property.

“We are estimating a loss of between Sh3 Million to 5 Million of property that was looted from the supermarket by goons,” he told journalists on Monday.

On Saturday, police arrested several people who were trying to break into the supermarket as the mall was being demolished.

The multi-agency team leading the demolition, however, says it will not be held responsible for the alleged loot.

Chief Inspector Julius Wanjau who is leading the exercise says that they issued two weeks notice for occupants to remove their property from the mall.

The multi-agency maintains that there is no looking back on the demolition of structures constructed on riparian land and road reserves in Nairobi.
