Members of Parliament allied to Deputy President William Ruto will not take any offense should they fail to get an opportunity to speak on Friday in Eldoret, Soy MP Caleb Kositany has said.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to open Rivetex industry on Friday in the company of DP William Ruto amid ongoing turbulence within Jubilee Party.
Last week, Uhuru accused members of Tangatanga team of derailing his agenda due to persistent politicking. He warned of dire consequences.
But Kositany, who is seemingly aware that most of Tangatanga MPs could be blocked from speaking in the function, said the team will not take offense.
“If we don’t get a chance to talk, that will not be end of the world. People should not try to make it sound like it is a matter of life and death. We are ready to welcome the President here,” he said as quoted by the Standard.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, who has been leading onslaught against President Uhuru Kenyatta, said the function will not be politicised on Friday.
“President Uhuru Kenyatta is welcome in Uasin Gishu and should feel at home. Rift Valley is his ‘sitting room’. Today we will not talk politics, there is always a time for politics and a time for work,” Sudi said ahead of the event.
Last year, four MPs from Bomet County stormed out of the function which was attended by Uhuru for allegedly being denied opportunity to speak.
Uhuru has been speaking strongly against early campaigns and people will be interested to follow his speeches at Eldoret on Friday.
