This comes at a time when the party appears divided into two, with one faction rallying behind the DP under the nickname 'Tangatanga', and  the other one dubbed 'Kieleweke' against him.

But Washiali now wants the party to punish the rival side, apparently because of its unending attacks on the DP and his 2022 presidential ambitions.

Speaking when he accompanied the DP to Nandi County on Friday, the Mumias East Member of Parliament questioned the conduct of the nominated MP Maina Kamanda-led side.

“We call on the top leadership to crack the whip on those who are losing track. They are in Parliament because they were nominated but are now busy throwing stones at our leaders,” he was quoted by the Standard.

On his side, area Governor Stephen Sang took a swipe at opposition leader Raila Odinga, predicting that the former Primer will be taking another shot at the presidency come 2022.

However, he observed that Raila stands no chance, in the race that could see him face off with the DP.
