Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany has waded into the debate on who should be the next governor of Uasin Gishu county.
Speaking in Eldoret town on Wednesday, Kositany said the person to take over from the governor Jackson Mandago should be of integrity, none tribal and development conscious.
"We want a person who will take the county to a higher level and one who will fully fit in governor Mandago's shoes of development. We will discuss as leaders and people of Uasin Gishu in order to agree on one person," said the MP.
Mandago who was reelected on a Jubilee party ticket in the August 2017 polls is serving his second term in office.
"Under governor Mandago's leadership, we have made strides in development and the next person should be the one who has interests of Uasin Gishu people at heart. That is the leader who will be able to continue with what the incumbent started," insisted Kositany.
Among the politicians said to be eyeing the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat include businessman Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki, former KANU politician Jonathan Bii who recently decamped to Jubilee party and Kenyan Ambassador to Pakistan Prof Julius Bitok.
