Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Simba Arati has assured his constituents that he will allocate bursary funds to people who do not hail from his constituency.
Speaking on Friday when he issued bursary Cheques to form one students in the constituency, Arati said the disbursement of the bursaries throughout his tenure will be done transparently.
"There are people who voted in Kisii, Kakamega, Kajiado and Nyeri but, they picked bursary forms in Dagoretti North Constituency. At my CDF office, we will not allow people who are not voters in the constituency to be awarded the money," he stated in a video shared on his Facebook page.
The lawmaker also handed over the sponsorship cheques to over 150 form four leavers whom he said he committed to sponsoring to various universities and colleges.
The move, he said, will acquaint them with the necessary skills for self-employment and today’s job market as they seek to become the future world leaders.
Arati noted that he has been missing for some time because he decided to take a break and relax.
"Some people have been wondering where I have been. I'm there only that I took some time to rest after being teargassed during the 2017 polls," he said.
