Alego Usonga Member of Parliament Samuel Atandi has called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to deal with one of his Cabinet Ministers who is allegedly entertaining discrimination in her docket.
Atandi wants Uhuru to reign on Foreign Affairs CS Ambassador Monica Juma for being a hindrance to his national equality campaign and further wants her punished for practising tribalism in a public office.
This follows complains from a section of Luhya leaders that staff members from the community are being subjected to mistreatment in the ministry.
Led by Kakamega Senator Cleopa Malala, the group on Friday said that it will seek Uhuru's intervention.
They further cited discrimination and victimization, claiming that 10 diplomats from the community have since been recalled from missions but are yet to be redeployed ten years later.
“We will soon be writing to the President to request a formal meeting to discuss this matter,” Malala was quoted by the Standard.
Atandi now wants Uhuru to look into the matter, for the sake of national unity.
We urge the State House to reign on the arrogant and ethnic CS- foreign affairs, who has refused to accept the realities of the new - non-tribal, equitable, United Kenya," said the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party member.
