In March this year, the Musalia Mudavadi-led party expelled Osotsi. He risks losing his seat after the Registrar of Political Parties confirmed that the procedure taken was in accordance with the law.

“The disciplinary committee, at a meeting held at the party headquarters on March 6, 2019, resolved that you should be separated from the party.

"The decision was tabled before NEC on March 18, 2019, during which session, your expulsion as reached by the disciplinary committee was upheld and ratified,” a letter to Mr Osotsi signed by Mr Muluka, read.

But on Sunday, Osotsi accused the party of waging a war against him due to his closeness with Raila Odinga, who he insists that is NASA leader.

“I am being fought for my principles. I want to make it clear that I support Raila as the Nasa coalition leader and as an ANC MP, our party is still in Nasa,” Mr Osotsi said as quoted by the Nation.

According to him, he will not have any problem being kicked out if ANC formally leaves NASA. He accused unnamed persons of plotting to neutralise Raila's influence in Western Kenya.

“The truth is that there are some people within Luhya politics who want to muzzle all Raila voices in Western. They want to fight me, Malala and Khaniri because of Raila,” Mr Osotsi stated.

Recently, he lost a bid be reinstated as the party Secretary General, a post being held by political commentator Barack Muluka.
