The girl came from a family of seven. Their parents died years ago and the children are living alone in village, with no known hatred with their neighbours.

Brian Ombati, the eldest of the siblings, said his sister Judy Ombati, might have been picked from the house where she stayed with her twin brother at around 12am on Tuesday by her killers.

"I was awakened by my younger brother at 1am who told me our sister is not  on bed. According to him, he woke up and could not see her on bed," he said.

"I alerted neighbours and we started a search mission. Shortly after, we found her dead body in the nearby river," narrated a shocked Ombati.

Martha Kerubo, a neighbour, said the orphans are disciplined and she could not understand why someone would kill the class three girl.

"These children are very disciplined and we don't know what really happened.Their elder brother is hard-working and feeds them daily. This is so heartbreaking. Authorities must give us answers," she said.

Residents have termed the village as 'notorious with such incidents' and have asked the police to move with speed and bring the killers into book.
