Witnesses said the riders collided head on during the evening accident.

"A rider headed to Kenyenya was speeding when he lost control and changed lane abruptly leading to the collision with an oncoming motorbike rider," said Joshua Bosire.

A boda boda vice chairman Jeremiah Ombati said the identity of the riders could not be established immediately because they don't operate in the area.

"They fainted after the accident and members of the public rushed them to hospital where they are recuperating. Nyamasagota area is becoming a black-spot since we lost five other riders on January 1, 2019 after a fatal accident," said Ombati.

Kenyenya police boss Isaac Thuranira warned riders against over speeding.

"I'm appealing to boda boda riders to embrace safety on roads to curb accidents. Police will arrest any rider over speeding," he noted.

The police boss insisted that riders who will be caught without safety gears shall face the law.
