A former MP aspirant has compared Deputy President William Ruto to August 8th celebrated voter Martin Kamotho also known as Githeriman.
Mwangi on Sunday said the Uganda Media Centre's decision to award Ruto the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award can only be compared to Githeriman who the Kenyan government awarded for 'no work'.
Kamotho was recognized nationally after his photo of eating githeri while on a voting line went viral.
"How much is Ruto donating to Uganda Media Centre to get this award? Congratulations William Ruto, finally you catch up with Githeri man. Githeri man was awarded a useless award that he didn’t deserve," Mwangi said.
Ruto on Sunday broke the record to become the first Kenyan to be awarded the Life Achievement Award, an annual award given to distinguished East Africans who show outstanding service to the public.
He was awarded at a lavish ceremony held at the Kampala Serena Hotel at an event also attended by his wife Rachel Ruto as well as Governors Sospeter Ojaamong (Busia), John Lonyangapuo (West Pokot) and Josephat Nanok (Turkana) and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.
While receiving the award, Ruto said he was honoured saying entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation helped him reach his present level in Kenyan politics.
"Without creativity and of course entrepreneurship I wouldn't be standing before you today," he said.
