There are several most common causes of divorce in this generation and they include trust issues, poor communication and financial woes.

1. Trust issues

Trust issues rank top as the leading cause of divorce in marriage in these recent times. When couples lose trust for each other, chances are that the marriage won't survive and this means divorce.

Usually, trust is broken when either or both of the partners engage in acts of infidelity, telling lies, reduced intimacy and so on.

2. Communication shortfalls

Proper communication is believed to be one of the greatest marriage builders. When partners communicate effectively, everything else takes its right position and the marriage is strong enough to last.

However, when there is a lack of effective communication, chances are there will be less understanding and hence marriage problems that could lead to divorce.

It is not advisable to assume that your partner knows what you feel, and therefore you should tell them every now and again.

3. Financial woes

Finances have also played a key role in broken marriages. Two people might walk down the aisle after putting rings on each other's fingers having hopes that the future is great in relation to finances. However, when financial problems surface later in marriage, the promises of staying together for life begin to break down and thoughts of divorce take over.
