The bhang was netted at Mwariki area on the outskirts of Nakuru Town.

Nakuru county police Commander Stephen Matu while confirming the incident said the value of the cargo is worth Shh3.6million.

“We got information from officers from Nairobi who later assisted us in tracing the tanker using a mobile phone service provider,” Matu said.

One person was arrested and will be arraigned in court on Tuesday morning.

According to the Nakuru county police boss, this is the first biggest consignment to have been netted in Nakuru transporting the narcotic.

He added that police are on the lookout as illegal traders seem to have changed tactic by transporting illegal goods using tankers.

According to the officer, they are still trying to find out the intended destination of the cargo since it was being transported from Wajir.

The incident comes few days after another consignment was netted in Kasarani area.
