Former Citizen Tv news anchor Salim Swaleh has confirmed signing a contract with Nation Media Group barely days after resigning from Citizen Tv over bribery allegations.
The celebrated Swahili anchor updated his social media profile on Wednesday to capture his new roles and employer.
Swaleh is expected on air soon and will assume the role of senior Swahili news anchor and producer at NTV.
Prior to his exit from Citizen Tv, Swaleh was accused of soliciting bribes from politicians to appear in his news segments.
He however dismissed the allegations saying that he is contented with his salary and business proceeds insisting that his aim was to create mutual truth with his guests.
"Yes, it is true I left Citizen TV a week ago. I resigned for personal reasons not because of what I am reading online. My salary and the little I get from my businesses is enough money for me. I am a professional journalist who has worked with international media entities," he said.
The king of airwaves is set to join a new team that will be unveiled by the station soon.
