Leaders from Mandera County have been urged to ask Deputy President William Ruto to visit Mandera to launch several development projects.
Lagsure MCA Robow Mohamed claimed that the six elected MPs and Woman Rep have failed in their duties and fighting for the interest of the electorate in Mandera at the national level.
Mr Mohamed said DP Ruto is busy launching development projects in neighboring counties but not in Mandera since the leaders have not invited him.
The MCA while speaking in Mandera urged the local MPs to invite Mr Ruto to visit the county so that they can enjoy projects that other parts of the country are enjoying.
“Our MPs cannot secure the DP who is crisscrossing this county dishing out goodies. Where are they and what is their work if they cannot get a single project from Mr Ruto’s basket?” asked Mr Mohamed.
Mr Mohamed had accused the MPs of remaining in Nairobi and enjoying city comfort after almost all of them failed to attend Jamhuri Day celebrations on Wednesday in Mandera.
Mandera County Assembly Majority Leader Abdi Adan Ali called on all the county leaders to work together and to focus their energies on economic development.
