Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Sunday led a delegation of party members and officials to Murang'a County.
Kalonzo toured Gatanga Constituency and attended a church service at ACK Giachuki where he vowed to continue working with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The former Vice President said his support for President Kenyatta's government is unstoppable.
He observed president Kenyatta needs the support of all leaders and Kenyans in the fight against corruption.
Kalonzo also noted that the country needs to remain united especially in the war against corruption.
He hailed the handshake, stating that it has resulted to political calm in the country.
"We must all join hands regardless of our tribes in the fight against graft," Kalonzo said.
Kalonzo's tour to Murang'a has been interpreted as a step to seeking the Mt. Kenya region's political support ahead of 2022 polls.
According to Kiambu based political analyst Peter Ngure, Kalonzo is on a serious mission to woo the GEMA community's support.
Ngure argues that Kalonzo's tour of Murang'a is intended to break political barriers and market his presidential bid in Mt. Kenya known for its 'tyranny' of numbers.
The analyst observes that Kalonzo is confident that Mt. Kenya can agree to support him.
"Kalonzo is using his cordial relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta to get the support of Mt. Kenya region," says Ngure.
He observed that Kalonzo's 2022 presidential bid will be smooth if he wins the GEMA's support.
Ngure notes that Kalonzo is among the presidential candidates who Mt. Kenya see's as friendly.
A section of Kalonzo's close allies have vowed to lobby Mt. Kenya region to support the former Vice President.
