Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko revealed on Tuesday that Baby Haimana Wairimu, the girl who is battling with thyroid cancer is back in the country after a successful operation in India.
In a tweet, with pictures of the little angel, the flamboyant city boss assured that the girl is recovering well.
"Today, the Sonko Rescue Team received Baby Haimana Wairimu at the JKIA after a successful surgery in India. Baby Haimana who had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and has been on oxygen support for the last 2 years is now recovering well after the operation," said Sonko.
The governor who has always been ready to support needy families supported the girl's family in taking her to Bengal, India for an operation.
The girl had been on oxygen support for two years. However, after the surgery by a group of surgeons that took five hours, Haimana from Komarock Estate in Nairobi was saved from the life-threatening disease.
