Transport along Mawanga-Murunyu road was paralysed Monday morning when matatu operators from Bahama and MTW Sacco blocked the road.
The matatu operators demanded the construction of the road.
The protestors said the road in bad condition which has hampered their business.

During the rainy season, the road is impassable while during the dry season it is full of dust.
This has always made it difficult for commuters plying this road to use it.
During the campaigns, Susan Kihika promised the residents that she would ensure the road is constructed if elected Senator.
Also, on the spot is area MP Kimani Ngunjiri as residents said he has forgotten them.
Area residents were forced to walk to and from work.
