August 8 presidential candidate Cyrus Shakhalaga Khwa Jirongo has been urged to support Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Jirongo, who had vied on United Democratic Party (UDP) garnered 11,240 votes in the election that was nullified by the Supreme Court.
However, the IEBC did not gazette Jirongo's name for the repeat election after he was recently declared bankrupt by a Nairobi court.
But Likuyani MP Enock Kibunguchy told the former Lugari MP to join the Opposition and support Raila in the push for electoral reforms.
"My brother Cyrus Jirongo need to reconsider his political stand. He should back NASA to revive his withering political career," Kibunguchy said.
Before the annulled August polls, Jirongo refused to support Raila saying the former Prime Minister stood no chance of defeating President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"This time, I decided I won’t support Raila. I knew it would be hard to sell him in Rift Valley,” said Jirongo, explaining why he decided to go solo and gun for the top job.
The embattled politician recently announced his support for President Kenyatta, citing his impressive track record in development.
