According to the school Principal Thomas Nyaencha, the dormitory was burnt to ashes on Wednesday early morning.

The principal said the fire broke at 5am when students were in class for morning studies.

"No student was injured during the inferno since most of them had left for morning studies. Nothing was salvaged," he said.

He called upon local leaders and well-wishers to intervene and help the affected students.

"All the students belongings were reduced to ashes, they have no place to sleep nor clothes to wear. My appeal to local leaders and well-wishers is that they should help us the affected students get even mattresses," said Nyaencha.

The principal added that the cause of fire is yet to be known.

Elijah Bwoma, a parent, urged area MP Vincent Kemosi and Nyamira Senator Okong'o Omogeni to intervene.

"Kemosi and Okong'o should come to our rescue so that the students can continue being in school to cover the syllabus," he noted.
