Speaking in Butula, Busia County, Joho said that he cannot waste his time in the name of lining up somewhere to wait for the second in command.

He left the crowd in stitches when he said that he can pick Interior CS Fred Matiang’i from the airport when he visits Mombasa but not the deputy president.

He claimed that the CS was a technocrat, who is out to ensure development is realised but Ruto was seeking power for his selfish gains.

“We were tired for real. I cannot lineup to greet Deputy President William Ruto and tell him to bring development. I cannot do that my friend. That I am seated at the Mombasa airport waiting for William Ruto. I cannot do that but if Fred Matiang’i arrives in Mombasa, I will go in person to pick him at the airport," he said on Friday as seen in this video.

The county boss has been very vocal on matters of national interest.

The second term governor also revealed that the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga asked the ODM team to ensure Ruto does not ascend to power.
