Obado had spent several days behind bars as a prime suspect in the murder case of slain Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

He was arrested on Wednesday after eight guns were found in his Lavington and Migori homes by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives who were on a mission to look for crucial documents in relation to ongoing investigations into graft allegations against the county boss.

Obado has since been charged for illegal possession of guns.

As usual, Twitter was on fire and some of the Kenyans on Twiter (KOT) linked the arrest to the governors' recent relationship with Deputy President William Ruto.

Since being released, Obado has attended several political meetings organized by the DP.

Here is what some of the KOT are saying about the arrest;

Retired Comrade - "Being allied to Tanga-tanga battalion seems to no longer have any immunity. Migori Governor Okoth Obado has walked with DP Ruto since his release to avoid 'intimidations'. EACC raids in his Nairobi and Migori homes has him again in trouble."

La Revolt - "Migori Governor Okoth Obado is surrounded by muppets as advisors, he should have taken low political profile when he was released on bail regarding Sharon's murder case. Some people cheated him that Ruto will protect him. Nobody can stop reggae in this handshake government.

A Karani Onsumu -"Migori Governor Okoth Obado arrested again just a few days after parading himself with DP Ruto. What does the government know about this guy that Ruto is ignoring?”
