His troubles began in September after his alleged girlfriend and Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno was abducted and found murdered in Homa Bay.

Consequently, part of the blame landed on him, seeing him spend a month at the Industrial Area Prison in Nairobi between mid-September and late October.

Though he was granted bail by High Court Judge Jessie Lesiit on October 24, it succeeded a series of humiliations after numerous rejections by the court.

This would worsen when Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives raided his homes and offices in November over his alleged involvement in embezzlement of public coffers.

The EACC maintains that he used 23 fraudulent firms registered under his kind to allocate himself county tenders and pocketing the money.

The November raid saw the detectives recover 8 firearms and bank documents, again landing him in court and once again in remand for two days.

Also, he has since been proposed for expulsion from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) over alleged indiscipline.

This, apparently, has everything to do with his opposition to the party's initial nomination of area Senator Ochilo Ayacko for the Senate election and closeness with Deputy President William Ruto.

The proposal, if passed by party leader Raila Odinga, could see him pushed out of office and a by-election conducted.

Speaking in late November, the leader called upon Kenyans to pray for him, claiming that some people are out to finish him, in what he termed an attempt to throw him inside the crocodile's mouth.

More is expected this year as Sharon's case hearing begins early this year and the motion to kick him out the party yet to pick momentum.
