Former Deputy Chairperson of African Union Commission Erustus Mwencha has faulted President Uhuru Kenyatta’s continued jibes on the judiciary.

Incidentally, his remarks come at the time Chief Justice David Maraga is facing ouster along with two other judges over alleged misconduct.

At Nairobi Club on Tuesday, Mwencha challenged the president to show ‘a little’ respect to judicial organs to avoid setting avenue for anarchy.

“I have been watching and listening gracefully on what is going on and I think we are losing the plot. Judiciary should be respected at all costs.

“Respecting that institution will even earn Kenya more respect. Whenever you do not agree with the judgment, do not target individual judges,” he said.

A tough speaking Maraga dared politicians to collect signatures and call for referendum to abolish the judiciary if they are not satisfied.

Earlier, Jubilee supporters protested the Supreme Court ruling that nullified victory of President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nairobi, Nakuru and Eldoret.
