Seven KCSE candidates, four invigilators and the principal of Sanga`alo Secondary school in Kanduyi constituency were on Tuesday arrested over exam malpractice.
The 11 were taken to Bungoma police station where they all recorded statements.
“Books were found in the student`s desks and the invigilators could not explain why the books were there nor notify anyone of the books being there,” said County education director Charles Anyika
He said they were alerted by a Kenya National Examinations Council official.
"I immediately picked police officers, went straight to the school and arrested the suspects,'' he said.
Anyika added that the group will be arraigned in court after police have completed investigations.
He further warned students and teachers against cheating saying they will face the law.
