Some 12 politicians are likely to miss out in the coming elections after they were found to miss out in the right IEBC registers.

These include Baringo County Jubilee Party gubernatorial aspirant Stanley Kiptis, Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) Narok gubernatorial aspirant Patrick Ntutu and the Nakuru CCM gubernatorial contender Peter Koros.

Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka, South Mugirango parliamentary aspirant Silvanus Osoro and Nominated senator Elizabeth Ongoro also face the lock-out after they were listed to contest in ODM despite having ditched the party.

While responding to the mess, the Jubilee Party has said it is investigating why these anomalies arose despite having done their work well.

They however agree that the only case they could take responsibility is that of Mr Kiptis whom the party said was the only “honest mistake” made in what saw seven aspirants miss out on the list.

“Given the massive numbers of names of aspirants we submitted, we are together with the commission investigating where the mistakes may have originated from. We request affected aspirants to stay calm as we make corrections,” the Jubilee Party said in a statement.

IEBC has clarified that parties and aspirants still have time to mend the issues, insisting though that the corrections have to be certified and presented by the parties themselves.
