Speaking on NTV's AM Live on Tuesday, Mr Cheruiyot claimed that the CSs who met at Lamada Hotel in Nairobi left their mobile phones in their cars.

He wondered why they had to leave the phones behind if indeed they were meeting to discuss how to fast-track development projects in Mount Kenya.

"What is it that is so secret about development in Mount Kenya that can only be discussed in basements of hotels and when you go to the meetings you have to leave your phones in the cars because that is exactly what they did," Senator Aaron Cheruiyot claimed.

The Kericho senator also hit out at CS Munya for lying that it is Deputy President Dr William Ruto who placed a called to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over the assassination plot.

Media reports indicate it is President Uhuru Kenyatta who ordered an investigation into the alleged plot to assassinate the deputy president.

CSs alleged to be behind the assassination plot presented themselves to the DCI but failed to record statements, claiming that the DP had not put the assassination claims on paper.
