Homa Bay DCIO Joseph Tuksho said Mr. Oyamo, an aide to Migori Governor Okoth Obado, has already been taken to Nairobi.

"The suspect is going to be charged at a Nairobi court today. A fleet of 16 security vehicles picked him in the morning," Tuksho said.

Detectives reached the decision due to tension that had started building in Homa Bay town where Oyamo was expected to appear before a judge.

A section of rowdy youths had started gathering outside the court with some threatening to lynch the suspect.

"The gravity of the matter also could not allow police to produce Oyamo any court around. The public is not calm about it," he said.

Top detective George Kinoti had insisted that his office will not spare all those implicated.

On Tuesday, Governor Obado was grilled in Kisumu in connection to cruel murder that has sparked debate from among Kenyans.

Mr. Oyamo, an aide to Obado, is implicated of summoning the deceased Rongo University student and Nation journalist Barack Oduor before their abduction.

Oduor, who survived the ordeal after jumping out of the moving vehicle, was also summoned to Kisumu to record statement.
