A total of 12 passengers were killed, and nine others are nursing injuries following an accident at Kimende town on the Nairobi-Naivasha highway on Tuesday night.
Among those who perished in the horrific accident are primary school pupils who were on board back to school.

The 18-seater public service vehicle was on its way to Western Kenya from Nairobi when it hit a lorry that was coming from the opposite direction on a head-on collision.
The matatu which belongs to Royal Mirage Sacco and the lorry rolled off the road due to the impact of the collision.
This worsened the situation as passengers were subjected to greater risks.
Nine died instantly on the spot while three others were pronounced dead on arrival at the Kijabe hospital for treatment.
The rescue team had a difficult time trying to get the victims out of the wreckage.
This caused a serious delay that jeopardised the lives of the survivors of the accident.
Public service drivers have been asked to take care while on wheels during this season students and pupils are travelling back to school.
