Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has reacted after a section of Rift Valley MPs dared President Uhuru Kenyatta to sack Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich.

This comes after the CS was questioned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over the Sh21 billion scandal involving the Arror and Kimwarer dams in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

The MPs on Saturday claimed that the war against graft was targetting members of the Kalenjin community in a bid to scuttle Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

Kabogo has hit out at the legislators, terming their sentiments as ridiculous and uncalled for.

The outspoken politician urged the MPs to seek advice from their criminal lawyers, adding that crime has no ethnicity and those found culpable should carry their own cross.

"This is ridiculous. Criminals are criminals, Kikuyu, Kalenjin or otherwise. Please consult your criminal lawyers to advise you accordingly. Shame on you," Kabogo posted on Facebook.

A section of MPs led by Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi has urged President Uhuru to fire the embattled CS if he fails to resign.

"I want to be the first person to call on Rotich to resign. Just as I urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to sack Rashid Echesa as Sports CS, I want to urge hime to fire Rotich. Mr Rotich must just be fired. This dam scandal is his scandal," said Atandi, as quoted by the Daily Nation.
