Kongowea Ward Administrator Washe Chisenga is working hand in hand with youth in undertaking a general cleanup of the market so as to enable a clean environment to the traders and customers.

Chisenga is conducting the exercise in coordination with the Department of Trade, Tourism and Investment and the Department of Environment, Waste Management and Energy.

The cleanup exercise which begun on Thursday evening, has so far seen the youth successfully sweeping the market surroundings as well as cleaning up the drainage systems that were clogged by waste generated from the area. 

The MCA asked businessmen, traders and other users of the market to avoid irresponsible garbage disposal.
