Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of hiding in the handshake with Raila Odinga to antagonise DP William Ruto's 2022 chances, adding that they are ready to face the duo in their next move.
In a video doing rounds on social media, Sudi, a close ally of DP Ruto, on Sunday insisted that the handshake trips have nothing to do with unity as stated by the Head of State earlier.
"I want to tell Mr Raila Odinga that we have now known the true meaning of a handshake. It's all about 2022 politics. I want to ask the president to tell us if he's not ready to retire. He can't use the handshake to hoodwink us."
He added: "We are tired with this nonsense of moving around the country. Just tell us to change the constitution and accommodate you. You can't stage-manage graft war just to fight DP Ruto."
This is the first major attack directed to the president by a leader close to DP Ruto, who has avoided blasting the president directly but instead chose to lynch the character of Mr Odinga.
Mr Sudi accused the president and his team of being insincere and warned a mother of all competitions against Uhuru and his team in 2022.
"When William Ruto supported Raila Odinga, he was not a thief, when he supported Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013, he was not a thief. But suddenly, he's now a thief. We shall deal with you when that time comes."
While the President insists DCI George Kinoti is doing a proper job in the fight against graft, the team allied to Ruto has accused him of allegedly being misused by the state.
All these are ignited by the controversy surrounding construction of Kimwarer and Aror dams which are yet to start though despite Sh21 billion being released to the contractor.
